Sapphire Point Colorado Wedding // James + Steph

September 02, 2017

Growing up in the same small town often means you think you know everything about everyone.  And even though Steph and James knew each other 15 years ago, they could never have guessed that a day would come that they would gather with their nearest and dearest on a mountaintop in Colorado to promise their forever to one another.

So, when the day came to plan their mountaintop nuptials they sent out around fifty invites, expecting only a handful of people to fly from Minnesota to Colorado.  But good love stories have a tendency to bring about a sense of necessity in people and as the RSVPs came pouring in, Steph and James were overwhelmed with the support and care they were given simply by the presence of those they loved.

Throughout the day, tears were shed and laughter abounded and above all no one felt they had come too far for this love story.  As toasts were given under the light of a Colorado moon, heartfelt words of encouragement floated through the night air, reminding those present that here were two people, deeply committed to the flourishing of those around them.  And so the night went, with good friends, good food and the knowledge that you can never travel too far for a good love story.
Steph and James scouted locations for photos in the days before the wedding and they nailed each and every single one.
They were married at Sapphire Point park and everything about that day was spectacular.  The sun shone just enough to keep them warm and the wind blew just enough to keep the heat at bay.  The clouds marked the sky if only to give a reference to how blue the heavens were.  Everywhere you turned it took your breath away.

Their reception was an intimate dinner at Sauce on the Blue in Dillon.  The outdoor tents and lights made for a spectacular evening.
Congratulations Dr. & Mrs. Erickson.  I wish you a lifetime of thrills and also peacefulness and that you find joy in both.  Thank you for bringing me along on this journey, I wouldn't have missed it for the world.
